The 34-year-old son of a popular Ludhiana eatery owner was shot dead at a birthday party early Thursday morning. Police stated the shooting occurred after an argument among attendees. The victim, Rahul Sharma, was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The murder weapon, a.32 calibre revolver, was reportedly licensed to a family member of one of the accused. Police have registered a murder case against eight individuals who are currently on the run.
