UK Civil Servant Accused of Holding Five Government Jobs Simultaneously

A UK civil servant, Kashim Chowdhury, is accused of holding at least five full-time government jobs at once, earning nearly £350,000 from eight employers between February 2020 and September 2023. Prosecutors told Southwark Crown Court that Chowdhury was contracted to work 183 hours a week across five jobs, exceeding the total hours in a week. He allegedly used fake sick notes and makeup to appear ill to cover his absences. Chowdhury has denied nine counts of fraud related to these allegations.
