US Envoy Meets Putin After Positive Talks With Ukraine President

US special envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Russia for talks with President Vladimir Putin regarding the war in Ukraine. Witkoff was greeted in St. Petersburg by Kirill Dmitriev, the Kremlin's advisor for international economic cooperation. This meeting follows Witkoff's discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Norway, which US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described as "positive." The envoy is expected to share ideas from the Ukraine talks with the Russian side in an effort to make progress towards peace.
