Congress Workers Clash With Police During Protest At CEO Office In Ranchi

Congress workers protested outside the state chief electoral officer's office in Ranchi on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. They alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and accused the exercise of being rigged in favour of a particular party. The protest saw a brief scuffle with police as workers attempted to breach barricades. Following the confrontation, agitators defaced the official name board outside the premises. Former Union minister Subodh Kant Sahay supported the demand for a fair probe and accountability.

मंगलवार को रांची में राज्य के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के दफ्तर के बाहर कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं ने प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग की। उन्होंने चुनावी रोल के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) में गड़बड़ी का आरोप लगाया और कहा कि यह किसी खास पार्टी के पक्ष में किया गया है। प्रदर्शन के दौरान पुलिस से थोड़ी झड़प भी हुई जब कार्यकर्ता बैरिकेड तोड़ने की कोशिश कर रहे थे। इस टकराव के बाद प्रदर्शनकारियों ने दफ्तर के बाहर लगे आधिकारिक नाम बोर्ड को भी खराब कर दिया। पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री सुबोध कांत सहाय ने निष्पक्ष जांच और जवाबदेही की मांग का समर्थन किया।
