A building that collapsed in Delhi's Satya Niketan on September 6, resulting in seven fatalities, lacked both a sanctioned building plan and a completion certificate. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) confirmed this in response to an RTI query. The civic body also stated it had not received any prior complaints regarding unauthorized construction or structural safety issues at the property. However, the MCD had previously declared the structure to be in a dangerous condition, posing a threat to occupants and residents, and issued a demolition direction.
