Bengal BJP Demands Fresh Voter Roll Revision, Cites Incomplete Exercise
Times of India · politics
Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya has demanded a fresh Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in the state, calling the previous exercise incomplete. He cited the recent identification of 25 lakh fake health insurance cards as evidence that more ineligible voters might still be on the rolls. Bhattacharya also alleged that the Trinamool and previous state administration created obstacles, including intimidation and violence, which hindered the effectiveness of the earlier revision process. He believes a new round is necessary to ensure a more accurate voter list.
