Hertfordshire Council Drops 6,752 Homes From Local Plan After Consultation

Hertsmere Borough Council has removed 6,752 planned homes from its Local Plan following public consultation. The decision includes dropping a proposal for 3,750 homes at Well End, between Borehamwood and Shenley. Other removed sites are Mutton Lane (1,750 homes), Compass Park (802 homes), and Battlers Green Farm (450 homes). Thousands of resident submissions, many template-based, raised concerns about infrastructure capacity. Despite these removals, the revised plan still accommodates at least 14,390 new homes between 2026 and 2041.
