Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing has arrested Shanta Ram Barku Shelke for allegedly defrauding 41 individuals of approximately ₹40 lakh by promising jobs in Russia and Israel. The accused operated an office in Laxmi Nagar, using social media to lure job seekers with fake offer letters, visas, and air tickets. Victims discovered the fraud upon reaching the airport, only to find the office closed and the accused absconding. Investigations revealed the accused had obtained a GST number to legitimize his operations, with funds deposited into firm and personal bank accounts.

दिल्ली पुलिस के आर्थिक अपराध शाखा ने शांता राम बरकू शेल्के को गिरफ्तार किया है। उस पर रूस और इज़राइल में नौकरी दिलाने का झांसा देकर 41 लोगों से करीब ₹40 लाख की ठगी करने का आरोप है। आरोपी लक्ष्मी नगर में एक ऑफिस चलाता था और सोशल मीडिया के ज़रिए नौकरी चाहने वालों को नकली ऑफर लेटर, वीज़ा और एयर टिकट दिखाकर फंसाता था। जब पीड़ित एयरपोर्ट पहुंचे तो उन्हें पता चला कि ऑफिस बंद है और आरोपी फरार हो गया है। जांच में पता चला कि आरोपी ने अपने काम को वैध दिखाने के लिए GST नंबर लिया था और पैसे फर्म और निजी बैंक खातों में जमा किए जाते थे।
