Uttar Pradesh to Deploy 1,725 Electric Buses Across 18 Cities

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने लखनऊ, वाराणसी और आगरा समेत 18 बड़े शहरों में 1,725 वातानुकूलित इलेक्ट्रिक बसें चलाने की मंजूरी दे दी है। ये बसें 12 साल की अवधि के लिए ग्रॉस कॉस्ट कॉन्ट्रैक्ट (GCC) मॉडल के तहत चलेंगी। इस मॉडल के तहत, निजी ऑपरेटर खरीद, चार्जिंग, संचालन और रखरखाव का प्रबंधन करेंगे, जबकि सरकार सब्सिडी देगी। इस पहल का उद्देश्य शहरी परिवहन सेवाओं को बेहतर बनाना, सरकार के खर्च का बोझ कम करना और सार्वजनिक परिवहन में निजी निवेश और दक्षता को बढ़ावा देना है।
