As the auspicious Navratri festival approaches, Vastu Shastra suggests removing five inauspicious items from home to invite prosperity and avoid displeasing deities. These include dried Tulsi plants and thorny plants, broken idols or pictures, old or broken brooms, expired medicines and chipped utensils, and non-functional clocks or broken electronics. Discarding these items is believed to remove negative energy, poverty, and stress, paving the way for blessings and progress. Welcoming the goddess involves cleaning the main entrance, making a Swastika, and hanging a toran.
