The Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Affairs ministries have spent only 8% of their FY27 budget allocations by September. This underspending occurs as the finance ministry begins consultations for the next budget. Other slow spenders include the Ministry of Coal (14%) and Jal Shakti (16%). In contrast, the Ministry of Railways is the fastest spender, having utilized 77% of its allocation. The Centre met nearly 48% of its expenditure budget in the first half of FY27.
