Two militants arrested for alleged involvement in Manipur woman's kidnapping

Police in Manipur's Imphal East district have arrested two militants suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of a woman. The arrests were made by a joint team of police commandos and Assam Rifles personnel. The militants belong to the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Nongdrenkhomba). A firearm, ammunition, and a car were recovered from their possession. Security forces continue search operations amidst ongoing ethnic violence in the state, which began in May 2023.

मणिपुर के इम्फाल ईस्ट जिले में पुलिस ने एक महिला के अपहरण में कथित तौर पर शामिल दो उग्रवादियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। यह गिरफ्तारी पुलिस कमांडो और असम राइफल्स के जवानों की एक संयुक्त टीम ने की। ये उग्रवादी प्रतिबंधित कंगलईपाक कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (नोंगद्रेनखोम्बा) से जुड़े हैं। इनकी तलाशी में एक बंदूक, गोलियां और एक कार भी मिली है। मई 2023 से जारी जातीय हिंसा के बीच सुरक्षा बल राज्य में तलाशी अभियान चला रहे हैं।
