Arab Parties Back Gadi Eisenkot To Form Israel's Next Government

Mint · politics

Israel's largest Arab political alliance, the Joint List, has announced its recommendation for opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot to form the next government. This decision, made on Thursday, significantly weakens Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's chances of retaining power. The Joint List's endorsement, combined with the United Torah Judaism party's decision not to recommend any candidate, strengthens Eisenkot's position. Arab-led parties secured a record 19 seats in the recent election, giving them considerable influence in the government formation process.
