Jaishankar Flags US Empathy Gap on Terrorism

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that the US lacks sufficient understanding and empathy regarding India's concerns over cross-border terrorism, which has impacted bilateral ties. He noted that terrorism remains a significant issue for India due to decades of deliberate cross-border attacks. Jaishankar also addressed trade negotiations, highlighting complexities arising from differing economic structures and recent changes in US tariff frameworks. He mentioned that while an understanding on a trade agreement was reached, new US tariff policies created challenges, with resolving these potentially improving the relationship.

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने कहा कि अमेरिका को सीमा पार आतंकवाद को लेकर भारत की चिंताओं की पर्याप्त समझ और सहानुभूति नहीं है, जिसका असर द्विपक्षीय संबंधों पर पड़ा है। उन्होंने कहा कि दशकों से जानबूझकर किए जा रहे सीमा पार हमलों के कारण आतंकवाद भारत के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दा बना हुआ है। जयशंकर ने व्यापार वार्ता का भी उल्लेख किया, जिसमें विभिन्न आर्थिक संरचनाओं और अमेरिकी टैरिफ ढांचे में हाल के बदलावों से उत्पन्न जटिलताओं पर प्रकाश डाला गया। उन्होंने उल्लेख किया कि व्यापार समझौते पर एक समझ बनी थी, लेकिन अमेरिकी टैरिफ नीतियों ने चुनौतियां पैदा कीं, और इन्हें हल करने से रिश्ते में सुधार हो सकता है।
