Karnataka Told To Release Cauvery Water

Tamil Nadu has urged the Supreme Court to direct Karnataka to release 17.604 tmcft of Cauvery water. Farmers in the Cauvery Delta are suffering due to not receiving their rightful share. Tamil Nadu argued that the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee and Cauvery Water Management Authority overlooked the accumulated backlog. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the Cauvery water dispute case on August 31.

तमिलनाडु ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट से कहा है कि कर्नाटक को कावेरी का 17.604 टीएमसीएफटी पानी छोड़ने का निर्देश दे। कावेरी डेल्टा के किसान अपना हक का पानी न मिलने से परेशान हैं। तमिलनाडु का कहना है कि कावेरी जल विनियमन समिति और कावेरी जल प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण ने जमा हुए बैकलॉग को नज़रअंदाज़ किया है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट 31 अगस्त को कावेरी जल विवाद मामले की सुनवाई करेगा।
