Keralam Govt Reconsiders Tourist Bus Colour Code

The Keralam government has directed the State Transport Authority to reconsider the uniform colour code imposed on tourist buses. This decision takes into account the 2023 All India Tourist Vehicles (Permit) Rules and the needs of the tourism sector. The uniform colour code, introduced in 2021, faced complaints that it affected Keralam-registered buses while all-India permit vehicles from other states operated without similar restrictions. Some owners had begun registering buses elsewhere, causing revenue loss to Keralam.

केरल सरकार ने राज्य परिवहन प्राधिकरण को टूरिस्ट बसों पर लागू एक समान रंग कोड पर फिर से विचार करने का निर्देश दिया है। यह फैसला 2023 के ऑल इंडिया टूरिस्ट व्हीकल्स (परमिट) रूल्स और पर्यटन क्षेत्र की ज़रूरतों को ध्यान में रखकर लिया गया है। 2021 में शुरू किए गए एक समान रंग कोड के खिलाफ शिकायतें आई थीं कि इससे केरल में रजिस्टर्ड बसों पर असर पड़ रहा था, जबकि दूसरे राज्यों के ऑल-इंडिया परमिट वाले वाहन बिना ऐसी पाबंदियों के चल रहे थे। कुछ मालिकों ने केरल के बाहर बसों को रजिस्टर कराना शुरू कर दिया था, जिससे केरल को राजस्व का नुकसान हो रहा था।
