Kerala Governor Faces Backlash Over Reported Non-Veg Food Ban At Lok Bhavan

Kerala Governor Om Prakash Mathur has drawn criticism from the Congress and CPI(M) on his first day in office due to reports of a ban on non-vegetarian food at the Lok Bhavan kitchen. Media outlets reported that Mathur instructed the kitchen to prepare only vegetarian meals. Congress leader K C Venugopal alleged the move was driven by the Sangh Parivar's agenda and violated fundamental rights. CPI(M) state secretary MV Govindan also opposed the reported restriction, calling dietary choices a matter of individual freedom.

केरल के राज्यपाल ओम प्रकाश माथुर को पदभार संभालने के पहले ही दिन कांग्रेस और CPI(M) की आलोचना का सामना करना पड़ा है। यह आलोचना लोक भवन रसोई में मांसाहार भोजन पर कथित प्रतिबंध की रिपोर्टों के कारण हुई है। मीडिया रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, माथुर ने रसोई को केवल शाकाहारी भोजन तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया था। कांग्रेस नेता के सी वेणुगोपाल ने आरोप लगाया कि यह कदम संघ परिवार के एजेंडे से प्रेरित था और मौलिक अधिकारों का उल्लंघन करता है। CPI(M) के राज्य सचिव एमवी गोविंदन ने भी कथित प्रतिबंध का विरोध किया और कहा कि आहार की पसंद व्यक्तिगत स्वतंत्रता का मामला है।
