ITAT Rules Mother's Rs 16 Lakh Gift to Son Tax-Free After Gold Sale

ITAT in Jaipur has provided relief to a man who received a Rs 16 lakh cash gift from his mother. The mother had sold her old gold jewellery to provide the funds. Initially, the Income Tax Department added Rs 13.04 lakh to the son's income, questioning the source of the cash deposit. However, after reviewing evidence, the ITAT ruled the department's action incorrect and ordered the additional income to be removed. The tribunal found the gift deed and supporting documents credible.

जयपुर में ITAT ने एक आदमी को बड़ी राहत दी है, जिसे अपनी माँ से 16 लाख रुपये नकद तोहफे में मिले थे। माँ ने ये पैसे अपने पुराने सोने के गहने बेचकर दिए थे। पहले इनकम टैक्स डिपार्टमेंट ने बेटे की आमदनी में 13.04 लाख रुपये जोड़ दिए थे, क्योंकि वे नकद जमा के स्रोत पर सवाल उठा रहे थे। लेकिन, सबूतों की जांच के बाद, ITAT ने कहा कि डिपार्टमेंट का यह कदम गलत था और अतिरिक्त आमदनी को हटाने का आदेश दिया। ट्रिब्यूनल को तोहफे का कागजात और बाकी सबूत सही लगे।
