Youth Congress-SFI clash erupts in Thiruvananthapuram, leaving several injured

Tense moments gripped Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday evening as Youth Congress and Students Federation of India (SFI) activists clashed in Palayam. The violence spread to University College and the Secretariat road, with police using teargas and lathicharge to disperse the crowds. Several youths and at least one police officer sustained injuries during the clashes. Both groups blamed each other for initiating the violence, with the SFI accusing Youth Congress activists of attacking a hostel. SFI has called for a statewide strike on Thursday in protest.

बुधवार शाम तिरुवनंतपुरम में तनाव का माहौल बन गया जब यूथ कांग्रेस और स्टूडेंट्स फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (एसएफआई) के कार्यकर्ताओं के बीच पालयम में भिड़ंत हो गई। यह हिंसा यूनिवर्सिटी कॉलेज और सेक्रेटेरिएट रोड तक फैल गई, जहाँ पुलिस ने भीड़ को तितर-बितर करने के लिए आंसू गैस के गोले दागे और लाठीचार्ज किया। इस झड़प में कई युवक और कम से कम एक पुलिस अधिकारी घायल हो गए। दोनों समूहों ने एक-दूसरे पर हिंसा शुरू करने का आरोप लगाया, एसएफआई ने यूथ कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं पर एक हॉस्टल पर हमला करने का आरोप लगाया। एसएफआई ने विरोध में गुरुवार को राज्यव्यापी हड़ताल बुलाई है।
