Akhilesh Maurya, a young farmer from Mau, Uttar Pradesh, is achieving significant profits by cultivating dragon fruit and bor simultaneously. After completing his ITI studies, he chose farming and adopted this innovative double-cropping method. He received the idea and dragon fruit saplings from the Horticulture Department. While dragon fruit takes 18-19 months to mature, he planted bor on trellises between the dragon fruit pillars, allowing for an earlier harvest and immediate returns. This strategy has enabled him to recover his initial investment within a month.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मऊ जिले के रहने वाले अखिलेश मौर्या ड्रैगन फ्रूट और बोर की एक साथ खेती करके अच्छी कमाई कर रहे हैं। आईटीआई की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद उन्होंने खेती को चुना और यह अनोखा डबल-क्रॉपिंग तरीका अपनाया। उन्हें बागवानी विभाग से ड्रैगन फ्रूट के पौधे मिले थे। ड्रैगन फ्रूट को तैयार होने में 18-19 महीने लगते हैं, इसलिए उन्होंने ड्रैगन फ्रूट के खंभों के बीच में जाली पर बोर लगा दिया, जिससे जल्दी फसल मिल सके और तुरंत आमदनी हो। इस तरीके से उन्होंने एक महीने में ही अपना शुरुआती निवेश वापस पा लिया।
