Pune Civic Body Demands 13 TMC Water From Khadakwasla Dam Till June 2027

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) standing committee chairman Shrinath Bhimale has submitted a demand to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for 13 TMC of water from the Khadakwasla dam for the city until June 2027. Bhimale stated that while the canal committee meeting indicated 13 TMC would be allocated until the next monsoon, the irrigation department has not provided clear calculations. He urged the CM to ensure adequate water supply, noting the city's expanded geographical area and population exceeding 70 lakh, requiring approximately 170 MLD daily.

पुणे नगर निगम (पीएमसी) की स्थायी समिति के अध्यक्ष श्रीनाथ भिमले ने मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस को शहर के लिए जून 2027 तक खडकवासला बांध से 13 टीएमसी पानी की मांग का एक ज्ञापन सौंपा है। भिमले ने कहा कि नहर समिति की बैठक में अगले मानसून तक 13 टीएमसी पानी आवंटित करने का संकेत दिया गया था, लेकिन सिंचाई विभाग ने स्पष्ट गणना नहीं दी है। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री से पर्याप्त जल आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने का आग्रह किया, यह देखते हुए कि शहर का भौगोलिक क्षेत्र बढ़ गया है और आबादी 70 लाख से अधिक हो गई है, जिसके लिए प्रतिदिन लगभग 170 एमएलडी पानी की आवश्यकता है।
