American artist and gallerist Peter Nagy, founder of Nature Morte, passed away on October 13 at the age of 67 after a prolonged illness. Nagy had resided in Delhi for over three decades, having first arrived in 1992 with plans for a year-long stay. He reopened Nature Morte in 1997, representing prominent Indian artists like Subodh Gupta and Bharti Kher. His unique New York-honed perspective allowed him to champion artists whose work was initially overlooked by the Indian art scene.
