Iran Offers 7-Day Hormuz Shipping Plan If US Meets Tehran's Conditions

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has presented a proposal for normal shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to resume within seven days, provided Tehran's conditions are met. He conveyed this plan to Washington via Qatar. Speaking at an OIC foreign ministers' meeting in Baghdad on October 17, Araghchi stated that the decision now lies with the United States. He emphasized that military pressure and threats would not resolve the ongoing crisis.
