India to Cut Cancer Drug Prices by Capping Trade Margins

NPPA is set to reduce the retail prices of 137 widely used cancer medications. The government has capped the trade margin for these drugs at 30% of the MRP, a move expected to make treatment more affordable. This new regulation, effective, applies to drugs including Atezolizumab and Bevacizumab, though immunotherapy drug Keytruda is excluded. Manufacturers selling above the new MRP must reduce prices, while those already below must maintain current rates.
