The Bangalore Hotels Association has urged the Karnataka government to withdraw the dry day order for upcoming Legislative Council elections, warning of potential business losses exceeding ₹500 crore. The association stated that declaring a dry day across Bengaluru city for an election with a limited voter base of around 20,000 would cause unnecessary hardship. They highlighted that the restrictions would significantly impact bars, restaurants, and pubs, affecting both the hospitality industry and the state's Excise Department revenue.
