Alvin Naicker, who managed SuperSport's live coverage, stated that a cameraman's decision to zoom in on Bancroft's pocket led to the discovery of the yellow substance used to alter the ball. The stadium's big screen operator also played a role by showing the footage between deliveries. This accidental revelation led to bans for the players and ongoing scrutiny for the Australian team.
