DMK Chief Stalin Demands Action Against Officials For MIDS Professor's Arrest

DMK president M.K. Stalin has demanded action against police officials who allegedly exceeded their authority in arresting Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS) professor Kalaiarasan. Stalin stated the professor was arrested over a comment made on a fake ID and praised him for speaking out against the injustice. He emphasized that good governance involves responding to questions and accepting criticism, rather than using police force. Stalin also condemned the escape of an autorickshaw driver arrested for sexual assault from a Kolathur police station.

डीएमके अध्यक्ष एम.के. स्टालिन ने मद्रास इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ डेवलपमेंट स्टडीज (एम.आई.डी.एस.) के प्रोफेसर कलाईअरसन को गिरफ्तार करने वाले पुलिस अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की है, जिन्होंने कथित तौर पर अपने अधिकार क्षेत्र का उल्लंघन किया। स्टालिन ने कहा कि प्रोफेसर को एक फर्जी आईडी पर की गई टिप्पणी के कारण गिरफ्तार किया गया था और अन्याय के खिलाफ आवाज उठाने के लिए उनकी प्रशंसा की। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि सुशासन का मतलब पुलिस बल का उपयोग करने के बजाय सवालों का जवाब देना और आलोचना स्वीकार करना है। स्टालिन ने कोलत्तूर पुलिस स्टेशन से बलात्कार के आरोप में गिरफ्तार एक ऑटो-रिक्शा चालक के भागने की भी निंदा की।
