DMK president M.K. Stalin has urged the Tamil Nadu government to file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court regarding reservation for converted Muslims. He stated that social backwardness persists despite religious conversion and that denying reservation based on it contradicts social justice principles. Stalin referenced the DMK government's previous resolution for Christians and called for constitutional amendment. He emphasized that reservation benefits should continue for BC, MBC, and SC communities facing caste oppression to uphold social justice.
