Kolkata's SRFTI Violence: SIT Formed, First Report Due October 1

West Bengal government has formed a six-member Special Intensive Team (SIT) to investigate the violence that occurred at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) campus on September 27. Headed by Additional Commissioner of Kolkata Police (Crime) Kunal Agrawal, the SIT will submit its first report by October 1. Three FIRs have been registered concerning the clash between Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat members and SRFTI students. The students questioned the permission granted for the event, while the ABGP claimed disruption. Both sides have blamed each other for the incident.

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने सत्यजीत रे फिल्म एंड टेलीविजन इंस्टीट्यूट (SRFTI) परिसर में 27 सितंबर को हुई हिंसा की जांच के लिए छह सदस्यीय स्पेशल इंटेंसिव टीम (SIT) का गठन किया है। कोलकाता पुलिस (अपराध) के अतिरिक्त आयुक्त कुणाल अग्रवाल के नेतृत्व वाली एसआईटी अपनी पहली रिपोर्ट 1 अक्टूबर तक सौंपेगी। अखिल भारतीय ग्राहक पंचायत के सदस्यों और SRFTI के छात्रों के बीच हुई झड़प के संबंध में तीन FIR दर्ज की गई हैं। छात्रों ने कार्यक्रम की अनुमति पर सवाल उठाए, जबकि ABGP ने व्यवधान का दावा किया। दोनों पक्षों ने एक-दूसरे पर घटना के लिए आरोप लगाया है।
