Scientists Discover Gene Therapy Drug To Slow Fatal Brain Disease
Times of India · science
After nearly thirty years, scientists have developed a gene therapy drug, AMT-130, showing the capacity to slow the progression of Huntington's disease. A Phase 1/2 clinical trial involving twenty-nine patients revealed that those receiving the therapy experienced seventy-five percent less disease progression compared to a control group. The treatment also reduced a key marker of brain damage by an average of eight point two percent.
