Centre Forms Committee To Probe Sugarcane Farmers' Issues Led By Ex-NITI Aayog Member

The Indian government has established a committee to investigate the persistent issues raised by sugarcane farmers and address their concerns. This committee will be led by Professor Ramesh Chand, a former member of NITI Aayog, who is an agricultural economist with extensive experience. The committee will examine farming costs, profitability, and the demand for increased returns for farmers. It will also review the minimum selling price of sugar and existing processes for sugarcane weighing and recovery verification.
