A historic 1874 building in Kansas City, once facing demolition after a roof collapse, has been saved and is being transformed into a restaurant and apartments. The former Seiden's Furs building, considered the oldest surviving commercial structure in downtown's Loop, required extensive cleaning and structural repairs. Local developer Chris Sally purchased the property in October 2023, intervening after an emergency demolition order. The renovation aims to preserve elements of its retail past, including a fur vault and vintage advertising.
