Shubman Gill: NZ ODI Series Crucial For India's 2027 World Cup Plans

Times of India · sports

India captain Shubman Gill believes the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand is vital for the team's 2027 World Cup preparations. He highlighted that playing in New Zealand in early November offers conditions similar to those expected during the global tournament, unlike previous tours in December and January. Gill also arrived early for extra practice, particularly with the red ball, to adapt to the conditions. He expressed confidence in India's fast bowlers, noting that New Zealand's bounce suits their skillset. India leads the five-match series 1-0.
