Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has urged for the swift finalization of the India-US trade agreement, emphasizing its significance for bilateral economic ties and global commerce. Her statement follows Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal's announcement that the first phase of the pact is legally drafted. Sitharaman also highlighted India's challenges accessing the Chinese market, citing non-tariff barriers as a major impediment for Indian businesses. She noted that despite ongoing discussions, progress on market access for products like medicines and perishable goods remains limited.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने भारत-अमेरिका व्यापार समझौते को जल्दी अंतिम रूप देने का आग्रह किया है, और द्विपक्षीय आर्थिक संबंधों और वैश्विक वाणिज्य के लिए इसके महत्व पर जोर दिया है। उनकी यह टिप्पणी वाणिज्य मंत्री पीयूष गोयल की घोषणा के बाद आई है कि समझौते के पहले चरण का कानूनी मसौदा तैयार हो चुका है। सीतारमण ने चीन के बाजार तक पहुंचने में भारत की चुनौतियों को भी उजागर किया, और भारतीय व्यवसायों के लिए गैर-टैरिफ बाधाओं को एक बड़ी रुकावट बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि चल रही चर्चाओं के बावजूद, दवाओं और खराब होने वाले सामानों जैसे उत्पादों के लिए बाजार पहुंच पर प्रगति सीमित बनी हुई है।
