A mentally disturbed farm labourer in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district allegedly murdered his 10-year-old son by smashing his head against a goddess's altar at their home. The accused, Naresh Patel, reportedly told his wife he sacrificed their son to prevent another family member from becoming a "bhuva," a ritual practitioner. The incident occurred on Sunday night in Vinchhiya village, Sanand taluka, after the boy's mother had left following a quarrel. Police have arrested Patel and launched an investigation into the disturbing incident.
