Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused the government of appeasing the US by introducing a 0.4% fee on UPI transfers over ₹2,000 to merchants from October 15. He questioned if this move aims to help US card companies compete with UPI, citing US pressure and criticism of the free UPI system. Ramesh also highlighted US actions against Indian immigrants and H-1B visa holders. He sarcastically redefined NOTA as 'Narendra's Ongoing Trump Appeasement'.

कांग्रेस नेता जयराम रमेश ने सरकार पर अमेरिका को खुश करने का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि 15 अक्टूबर से ₹2,000 से ऊपर के UPI ट्रांजैक्शन पर व्यापारियों से 0.4% शुल्क लेना इसी का नतीजा है। रमेश ने सवाल उठाया कि क्या यह कदम अमेरिकी कार्ड कंपनियों को UPI से मुकाबला करने में मदद करने के लिए है। उन्होंने अमेरिकी दबाव और फ्री UPI सिस्टम की आलोचना का भी जिक्र किया। रमेश ने मज़ाक में NOTA को 'नरेंद्र्स ऑनगोइंग ट्रम्प अपीजमेंट' बताया।
