TMC Accuses BJP of Paid Social Media Campaign

The Trinamool Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of manufacturing a narrative and creating religious division ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls by paying YouTubers and social media influencers. TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh stated that a particular YouTuber, who allegedly created a stir over a food order, received ₹2.5 lakh from the BJP. Ghosh questioned the payment to influencers compared to mainstream media and demanded an investigation into their conduct, suggesting they posed as journalists for paid assignments.
