Private equity billionaire Orlando Bravo has received approval to demolish a historic Miami Beach mansion he purchased from musician Phil Collins for $39.25 million. The Miami Beach Design Review Board granted final approval for the demolition and a new flood-resistant luxury home. The original 1929 estate, which had over 10,000 square feet, was not a designated historic landmark. Bravo's plans include a modern residence raised above current city requirements with elevated foundations and drainage systems to combat rising sea levels and storms.
