The family of a Dalit youth in Kerala's Kottayam district has accused the Erattupetta police of assaulting him during questioning related to a suspected cable theft. The youth, Abhilash, was taken for questioning on Friday and is now undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital. His brother alleged police assaulted him inside a vehicle while taking him to the station. Police officials have denied the allegations, stating the youth was intoxicated and received a medical examination before questioning.
