Odisha Vows To Block AP Panchayat Polls In Disputed Kotia Region

Odisha has vowed to prevent Andhra Pradesh from holding panchayat elections in the disputed Kotia region of Koraput district, asserting its integral status. The two states have a long-standing territorial dispute over 21 villages in the Kotia gram panchayat since the 1960s. Odisha's revenue minister stated that necessary directions have been issued to the Koraput administration to remain vigilant and prevent AP from conducting elections.

ओडिशा ने कोरापुट जिले के विवादित कोटिया क्षेत्र में आंध्र प्रदेश द्वारा पंचायत चुनाव कराने से रोकने की कसम खाई है, और अपने अभिन्न दर्जे पर जोर दिया है। दोनों राज्यों के बीच 1960 के दशक से कोटिया ग्राम पंचायत के 21 गांवों को लेकर लंबे समय से क्षेत्रीय विवाद चला आ रहा है। ओडिशा के राजस्व मंत्री ने कहा कि कोरापुट प्रशासन को सतर्क रहने और आंध्र प्रदेश को चुनाव कराने से रोकने के लिए आवश्यक निर्देश जारी कर दिए गए हैं।
