RBI Accepts Higher Treasury Bill Yields After Previous Auction Cancellation

Economic Times · business

The Reserve Bank of India has accepted higher treasury bill cutoff yields, 20 basis points above the last successful auction, following a cancellation last week. Yields on short-term bonds have reached their highest in nearly two years. The 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day treasury bill yields were reported at 5.93%, 6.54%, and 6.69% respectively. This increase reflects near-deficit liquidity and high oil prices, which are pressuring short-term funding and prompting traders to demand higher returns.
