NCLT Scraps JLS Realty Land Transfer to Spenta, Cancels ₹525 Cr IIFL Deal

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has invalidated multiple transactions by JLS Realty Pvt Ltd, including the transfer of a Mumbai redevelopment land parcel to Spenta Suncity. The tribunal also cancelled a mortgage and corporate guarantee linked to ₹525 crore in financing involving IIFL. The NCLT ruled that the sequence of events demonstrated a deliberate design of oppression and a lack of fair dealing. This ruling follows five years of litigation concerning a slum-redevelopment project in Jogeshwari East, Mumbai, and aims to restore the land to JLS Realty.

नेशनल कंपनी लॉ ट्रिब्यूनल (एनसीएलटी) ने जेएलएस रियलिटी प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के कई सौदों को अमान्य कर दिया है, जिसमें मुंबई की एक पुनर्विकास जमीन का स्पेन्टा सनसिटी को हस्तांतरण भी शामिल है। ट्रिब्यूनल ने आईईआईएफएल से जुड़े ₹525 करोड़ के फाइनेंसिंग से संबंधित एक मॉर्गेज और कॉर्पोरेट गारंटी को भी रद्द कर दिया है। एनसीएलटी ने फैसला सुनाया कि घटनाओं के क्रम ने उत्पीड़न की एक जानबूझकर की गई योजना और निष्पक्ष व्यवहार की कमी को दर्शाया। यह फैसला मुंबई के जोगेश्वरी ईस्ट में एक झुग्गी-पुनर्विकास परियोजना से संबंधित पांच साल की मुकदमेबाजी के बाद आया है, और इसका उद्देश्य जमीन को जेएलएस रियलिटी को वापस दिलाना है।
