Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to commence restoration of the damaged Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages of the Kaleshwaram project in December. The works must strictly follow recommendations from national-level experts and the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA). Final approvals are expected by the end of November. The government aims to lift water on an unprecedented scale through alternative schemes to prevent Godavari water wastage. Restoration proposals are estimated at approximately ₹4,193 crore, with construction agencies covering defect rectification costs.
