Biden-Appointed Judge Blasts Trump Admin Over DC Golf Course Tree Removal

US District Judge Ana C Reyes has sharply criticized the Trump administration for the removal of hundreds of trees at a Washington golf course. Judge Reyes, appointed in February 2023, expressed strong disapproval after over 400 mature trees were cut down at East Potomac Golf Links. She had previously ordered officials to report major changes before work commenced. The judge, who joined the hearing remotely from Istanbul, ordered a one-day halt to further tree removal and demanded testimony on who approved the action.
