A network of over 70 lawyers across India is providing rapid assistance to individuals detained during protests in Delhi. The group, formed to help protesters, operates a system to quickly locate and dispatch independent lawyers to assist detainees, including minors and those claiming injury. This initiative aims to ensure legal procedures are followed amid mass detentions, even after the Supreme Court ordered that peaceful protesters not be detained unlawfully. The lawyers also circulate information on detainee rights and procedures for those witnessing detentions.
