Jack Nicholson Reported As Mystery Donor Of 60 Acres For Wildlife Preservation

Hindustan Times · environment

Actor Jack Nicholson was reportedly the anonymous donor of approximately 60 acres of wild land in Coldwater Canyon to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy in 1994. This land was described as crucial for linking two major parks and preserving native oak woodland and deer habitat. The donation was part of a larger effort to maintain connected open spaces across the Santa Monica Mountains. Connected habitats are vital for wildlife, as demonstrated by studies showing genetic isolation and inbreeding in species like mountain lions due to development.
