New US Weapon Seekers Can Find Targets Independently Without GPS or Radio

Times of India · technology

US defence firm OKSI has unveiled a new line of intelligent seekers for weapons that can autonomously detect and track targets. These systems bypass the need for GPS, laser designation, or radio communications, relying instead on onboard sensors and computing. Designed for electronic warfare environments, they use electro-optical and infrared sensors with computer vision algorithms to identify targets across various speeds. This technology allows for 'lock-on-after-launch' capabilities and independent target tracking by multiple weapons, reducing reliance on external support.
