The Supreme Court has declined to grant relief to the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress faction regarding four frozen bank accounts. The court stated that the Calcutta High Court is already considering the matter and will hear arguments after the Puja holidays. The TMC faction argued it needs funds for daily expenses and cited an upcoming by-election. The Solicitor General opposed the plea, citing serious charges related to alleged cash deposits. The court refrained from interfering, emphasizing the high court's ongoing examination of the case.
