Delhi Metro Adds 20 Weekday Trips As AQI Hits Very Poor

Times of India · environment

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will operate 20 additional train trips on weekdays starting Tuesday, bringing the total extra trips to 40. This measure is implemented as AQI reached 324, entering the 'very poor' category, and Stage 2 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) was enforced. The DMRC aims to encourage public transport use and reduce vehicular pollution, which contributes significantly to the city's air quality issues. The worsening air quality is attributed to unfavorable meteorological conditions.
