Bangladesh Court Sentences 7 Hasina Allies To Death

A Bangladesh court has sentenced seven senior figures from ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's former ruling party to death in absentia. They were convicted of crimes against humanity, including inciting killings during the 2024 anti-government uprising that ended Hasina's 15-year rule. The International Crimes Tribunal also ordered the seizure of half their assets for victim compensation. The UN estimates up to 1,400 people died during the unrest.

बांग्लादेश की एक अदालत ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना की पार्टी के सात बड़े नेताओं को गैरहाजिर में मौत की सज़ा सुनाई है। उन पर 2024 के सरकार विरोधी आंदोलन के दौरान हत्याएं भड़काने सहित मानवता के खिलाफ अपराधों का दोषी पाया गया। इस आंदोलन से हसीना का 15 साल का शासन खत्म हुआ था। इंटरनेशनल क्राइम्स ट्रिब्यूनल ने पीड़ितों के मुआवज़े के लिए उनकी आधी संपत्ति ज़ब्त करने का भी आदेश दिया है।
